Westminster Presbyterian Church offers activities and learning opportunities for children of all ages. We have very recently updated our nursery and preschool room. Our Christian Education building has been a blessing, giving us the space and pleasant surroundings in which to educate and encourage the children of our church. Your children are very welcome at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Please ask a greeter, usher or just about anyone if you need help finding the right place for your children on Sunday morning. Worship Rotation Station Sunday School for Kindergarten through Eighth Grade

Nursery

Hours : 9:30-12:15 Sunday AM
Ages: birth through 3 years.

Visit our recently updated nursery! Our paid staff will be happy to supervise and play with your children during our Sunday School hour and worship service. Children must be signed in and picked up by an adult. We have pagers for parents so we can contact you in case of an emergency. Please bring your child's diaper and bottle needs. We provide juice and crackers or snack. A toddler bathroom is located across the hall from the nursery for those who are potty trained. The nursery in in the Fellowship Hall building. Enter through the door next to the handicapped parking area and take a left at the water fountain. The nursery is the second door on the right.

Pre-K Sunday School Class

Our Pre-K Sunday School Class offers an excellent beginning to Christian Education within a comforting and fun environment.

Workshop Rotation Station Sunday School for Kindergarten through Eighth Grade

Each Sunday from 9:30 to 9:45 a.m. all of the Pre-K through 8th grade students gather in the REEL to REAL room for singing, guitar picking and fellowship with Rev. Newton. At 9:45 sharp the students then go to their assigned rotation for their Sunday School Class.

The Workshop Rotation Model teaches Bible stories and concepts through kid-friendly, multimedia workshops. Here at Westminster, the workshops will be: "Thou Art", art/cooking; "Kingdom .com", computer; "Act upon Your Faith", storytelling/drama; "REAL to REEL, movies/videos; and "Moved by the Spirit", games/music/movement. The same Bible story is taught in all workshops for five weeks with each age group rotating to a different workshop each week. The same teacher is in each workshop for all five weeks and he or she teaches the same lesson each week adapting it to the age group.

The theme for our Sunday School program is Faith Trek - A Journey of Faith. The hallways of the Christian Education building have come alive with murals of Old and New Testament stories that depict our faith journey beginning with the Creation, journeying with favorite biblical characters such as Noah, Abraham, Sarah, transitioning to the New Testament with paintings depicting the birth of Jesus and his life on earth, ending with the Crucifixion and Resurrection story. Rooms are converted to carry out the theme of the program and each workshop. For example in the "Kingdom.com", the room is a computer center where bible stories, maps and games come alive on the computer screen.
