Westminster has been showing up for Nacogdoches for more than 130 years  from leading the county's WWI war savings campaign to founding the local Head Start program to housing the Christian Women's Job Corps today. We believe the church exists not for itself but for the world, and that God is already at work in our community. We just join in.

H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Eat)

Westminster supports H.O.P.E. through annual food drives and special offerings. Our 2025 Christmas Eve offering raised over $900 for H.O.P.E.'s work addressing food insecurity in Nacogdoches County.

Hunger Free Nacogdoches

Pastor Kallie serves on the Community Leadership Council through Baylor University's Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty, a two-year initiative focused on coalition building and local food security policy. Westminster is committed to long-term, systemic work alongside immediate relief.

Mini-Grants

Westminster's Mission Committee awards grants of up to $500 to nonprofit organizations serving the Nacogdoches community. Recent recipients include CASA, the Janelle Grum Family Crisis Center, the NAACP (school supplies), and Grace for Our Purposes. Organizations may apply through the Mission Committee.

2026 Recipients:

  • Village Nac: to help furnish a Tiny Home for the homeless

  • Mission Nac: to purchase supplies for repairing the homes of those most in need

  • Hunger Free Nac Sin Hambre: to provide food for an event introducing the community to the Hunger Free Nac Coalition, which works to fight hunger in our community

Annual Community Events

Back to School Bash Each August, Westminster partners with local organizations to provide school supplies, hoodies, and activities for elementary-age students — supported by a Presbytery grant, congregational giving, and volunteers from across the community.

Christmas Eve Offering Each year, our Christmas Eve service includes a special offering for H.O.P.E.
